Query Line Availability |

Query Line Availability allows you to search the network records for available network serving a particular address and, where a customer is moving premises, check whether their number can be retained at the new premises (before placing the order). The network records are only available for "Gold" addresses, so the first stage of any Query Line Availability request is to identify the address for which the request relates to, this is done using the usual address matching process, for example see below:

Once an address has been chosen then the option to enter a line number is available - the Portal will then request Openreach check whether the line number entered can be used at the address chosen, see below:

After a few seconds Openreach return the network records and these are displayed on screen, for an example see below:

In this example there is one working line in the address (the number is not given for working lines) and there are no stopped lines (the number would be given for a stopped line). There are also nine spare pairs on the distribution point serving that address, so requesting a new provide at that address would be straightforward in most cases. |
